Sarah DiGregorio wrote an article for the New York Times about chicken skin. The article also explained how some chefs use it in their dishes.
The article has gotten over-taken by a controversial photo: a raw chicken propped up in a way to make it look “sexy.”
Most people find the photo rather funny or cute, but PETA doesn’t like it.
“When I saw it I just couldn’t believe that an editor of the New York Times would find it acceptable,” PETA’s founder and president Ingrid Newkirk told the Atlantic Wire. “It’s necrophilia. It’s not amusing. It’s just ghastly and sickly.”
I think it’s pretty awesome and amusing. PETA could think whatever it wants about it.
