James Beard Nominee Jacques Van Staden has bought Chophouse.
Jacques Van Staden was former executive chef of Las Vegas’ Alizé at the Top of the Palms. While he was there he earned a Michelin star. Now he has bought ‘Chophouse Miami Bistro & Lounge.’
“I loved the location and thought the Chophouse space had such potential,” says Van Staden.
Van Staden has spent the last five years as vice president and master chef of culinary operations for Celebrity Cruises.
The new and improved menu will consist of “globally-inspired small plates, spectacular sushi, flatbreads, chop block specials – a Chophouse version of a bento box – fresh fish and premium cuts of meat.”
Chophouse is expected to re-open in November.
