There’s an even better reason to make the trek up to The Diplomat Beach Resort, Monkitail.
Monkitail comes to us from celebrity and famed chef Michael Schulson. Monkitail is contemporary izakaya or Japanese gastropub. The menu has sharable small plates and sushi, specialty cocktails and sake.
There is defininetly something for everyone at Monkitail. If chef’s tasting menus are your thing, then there is a chef’s tasting option for $65 per person that allows you to pick one item from ten sections plus a dessert. Plus after dinner, grab some drinks at their awesome bar tucked away behind the main dining room called Nokku.
Monkitail was recently voted ‘Best Hotel Restaurant’ by USA Today.
See the full menu here.
I recently got a chance to check out Monkitail for dinner and was simply blown away.

Chef Michael Solomonov have officially opened Dizengoff, right next to their popular Federal Donuts in Wynwood.
Dizengoff is known for their hummus.
The hummus at Dizengoff is made fresh daily and topped with rotating garnishes like corn masabacha with chickpeas and tehina; onion with turnips, turmeric and schug. The hummus comes with fresh baked pita, Israeli salad and pickles. The menu also includes some sides and a Lemonnana, which is a Israeli frozen mint lemonade. On Sundays and only on Sundays, Dizengoff serves their version of shakshuka, North-African baked eggs in a spicy tomato and pepper stew, served with pita.
Check out the full menu here.
We couldn’t wait to get our hands on Dizengoff and try their hummus. Let’s just say I don’t want to eat hummus again unless it’s from Dizengoff.

A new brewery is coming to Wynwood.
Veza Sur Brewing Co. is set to open on August 19th. Veza Sur is a Miami-born craft brewery with Latin and American roots that honors authenticity, great tasting brews, and hella good vibes in one of Miami’s most creative neighborhoods, Wynwood.
Veza Sur comes to us from Anheuser-Busch InBev.bAnheuser-Busch InBev is adding to its craft-and-import-focused, “high-end” portfolio with the launch of Veza Sur Brewing Co.
The 10,000-square-foot space will include a 15-barrel DME brewhouse and a 5,000-square-foot taproom with a terrace.
When people visit the brewery for some awesome beer, they can also feast on Pubbelly’s latest creation,Baja Bao. Chef Jose Mendin says the concept centers on bao buns with Latin flavors from countries such as Argentina and Mexico. The idea is to place traditional and nontraditional taco fillings inside the fluffy buns.
On top of all that greatness, Veza Sur Brewing Co. is also going to offer Beer Cocktails created by none other than Bar Lab.
Veza Sur is located at 55 NW 25th St. in Wynwood.
We recently got a chance to try the beer first and one of their amazing beer cocktails. Check it out below:
