Disney got an upgrade with the B Resort & Spa

When you come to think of finding the perfect place to stay at in the Walt Disney World area, you tend to have a lot of options. But, I am here to help guide you in making that perfect decision. That decision is pretty simple.

The B Resort & Spa is where you want to stay at.

The B Resort & Spa is located on the strip of hotels they call the Disney Springs Resort Area. If you haven’t been to Walt Disney World in a while, Disney Springs is the new Downtown Disney. The B Resort & Spa is your answer to a modern and sophisticated resort in the Walt Disney Area. The B Resort & Spa is an official Walt Disney World Hotel, so you know all the great benefits you get by staying at a Walt Disney Hotel, you get those as well at the B Resort & Spa.

The B Resort & Spa offers complimentary shuttles to and from the parks, FastPass+ access, Extra Magic Hours, family flexible rooms, a spa and on-site dining at their restaurant, American Kitchen Bar & Grill.

With all the B Resort & Spa has to offer, why stay anywhere else.

I got a chance to experience how great the B Resort & Spa was for an entire weekend late last year. I headed up to Orlando to cover the Epcot Food & Wine Festival and partnered up with The B Resort & Spa to showcase why it was the perfect place to stay when visiting Walt Disney World.

When first entering the lobby, you are don’t even get the feeling you are in Walt Disney World. You are greeted with a waterfall, blue lighting and modern furniture that pops and screams fun.

I checked into the hotel and headed up to room. The room was spacious, comfortable, bright and open just like I like my hotel rooms. Not only is this room perfect for me, but I thought it was perfect for families as well.

One thing I really love about The B Resort & Spa is the location. You are in walking distance to Disney Springs, so you can do some shopping, dining and more. But if you don’t feel like walking or driving, you can head right downstairs to the American Kitchen Bar & Grill.

The American Kitchen Bar & Grill is located inside the B Resort & Spa. You walk into the restaurant and you find this 1950’s Ford Pickup that is used as a living garden that they harvest all the greens and herbs from everyday. On top of that cool pickup inside the restaurant, the menu has literally something for everyone. There’s burgers, steaks, salads, seafood, you can’t go wrong. Plus the drinks are great too.

Instead of heading over to Disney Springs, I decided to dine at American Kitchen Bar & Grill and you know what I made the right decision.

Here are some of the dishes I ate:

It’s so awesome to have American Kitchen Bar & Grill right downstairs at The B Resort & Spa.

The next morning I woke up and headed downstairs to pick up my complimentary shuttle to take me to Epcot for the Food & Wine Festival. The best part about these shuttles is you don’t need to worry about paying for parking or finding your car after you’re tired from the parks. You just walk over to the stop and within a few minutes your ride is there. Plus you don’t need to worry about drinking and driving when attending the Food & Wine Festival.

I arrived at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival and started to eat and drink my way around the world. Here are some of the dishes and drinks I had:

After all that fun, it was time to head back to the B Resort & Spa to wine down for the evening. I took the shuttle from Epcot back to the B Resort, freshened up and walked over to Disney Springs for some shopping. At the end of the night, I was tired and didn’t want to walk back so I simply went to the bus stop for B Resort & Spa and took the shuttle right back to the hotel.

The complimentary shuttles are so convenient and awesome at the B Resort & Spa, that it makes my decision so much easier when looking for a place to stay next time I make my way up to the Walt Disney World area.

The next morning I grabbed some coffee at The Pick-Up, the downstairs coffee shop at the B Resort & Spa, grabbed my bags and headed back home to Miami.

The B Resort & Spa has so much to offer that you have to make it your destination and place to stay when visiting Walt Disney World. You won’t regret it. The B Resort & Spa is where you can ‘Just B You!’

The Diplomat Beach Resort – The Staycation of Your Food Dreams

Sometimes there’s nothing wrong with a little staycation. So that’s when you hop in the car and drive right up the street to Hollywood and enjoy a weekend at the Diplomat Beach Resort.

Now you’re wondering, the Diplomat has been around for some time now, what’s the big deal with the Diplomat Beach Resort?

Well the Diplomat Beach Resort went thru a $100 million dollar renovation recently and it could not have come out any better. Not only was the entire property redone, but along with the changes came some amazing food.

A few weeks ago, I made the trip to the Diplomat Beach Resort for a weekend staycation. I relaxed, I ate, I drank my way through the Diplomat with the best hotel room and view in the city.

I arrived on Friday night and headed straight for Point Royal. Point Royal is the latest restaurant by celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian. I knew this was going to be a great night, when it kicked off with ‘The Point Royal Tower,’ which features 6 oysters, 6 clams, 6 oz. blue crab claws, 6 pink shrimp, whole Maine lobster and 16 oz. Alaskan king crab. 👀 The meal was then followed by the ‘GZ Butter Poached Lobster Roll,’ ‘Point Royal Caesar,’ ‘Crab Croquettes,’ ‘Ricotta Dumplings,’ ‘Pomegranate Glazed Short Rib,’ ‘Shrimp & Anson Mills Grits’ and ‘Parmesan Crusted Potatoes.’ Even though, I was beyond full, I couldn’t end the night without having something sweet. I went with the ‘Dark Cherry Meringue.’ What a way to kick off night one of this staycation.

After that amazing meal to kick off the weekend, the night couldn’t end without some cocktails. What better way to end the night than at Nokku. Nokku is a karaoke speakeasy located behind Monkitail. If you’re wondering what is Monkitail, well Monkitail is a modern Japanese restaurant from Celebrity chef and restaurateur Michael Schulson. I didn’t dine at Monkitail this time around, but I love Monkitail and it’s one of my favorites on property. When you dine at Monkitail, I suggest you do the tasting menu, which will run you $65 per person. The tasting menu proffers 10 selections, one from each of the menu sections (cold, small, rolls, sushi & sashimi, crispy, meat, fish, sides, specialty sashimi, and robayataki).

Now back to Nokku.

Nokku has private karaoke rooms, where you can choose from any song imaginable. On top of the karaoke rooms, Nokku has some amazing cocktails, as well. Monkitail’s cocktail list is available at Nokku, which is a plus. My favorite cocktail at Monkitail/Nokku is ‘The Monkitail,’ which consists of bourbon, rye, vermouth, and barrel stave smoke.

After a few Monkitail’s, I decided to call it a night.

I kicked off the next morning by grabbing some breakfast at CounterPoint. CounterPoint is a quick-serve cafe, where you can score some ‘La Colombe’ coffee, fresh juices, breakfast sandwiches and more.

I followed that up with some poolside lounging and cocktails in a cabana. These poolside cabanas are pretty damn comfortable too. They provide plenty of shade, a tv for your viewing pleasure and some nice comfortable couches for you to take that mid-day nap on. Which is exactly what I did. You can grab some great poolside cocktails and bites at ‘La Playa.’ I had one to many Palmoa’s and Guacamole with mashed avocado, serrano chili, onion, lime, cilantro. All this makes for a little heaven on earth.

That mid-day nap is sure to make you hungry, so that’s when I made my way over to Bristol’s Burger. At Bristol’s I went for the ‘Loaded Footlong Wagyu Beef Hot Dog,’ ‘Mac & Cheese Tots’ and ‘Bristol’s Burger’ with homemade cheddar cheese whiz, lettuce, pickles, louis sauce.

To cap of this amazing staycation, I knew I had to have dinner at Diplomat Prime. Diplomat Prime isn’t just any other steakhouse. Diplomat Prime aged’s all their meat, plus you can enjoy a full raw bar, some non-steak items and a curated wine list and craft cocktails.

The dinner started with some oysters and stone crabs. Followed by the Octopus with edamame hummus, black olive, french feta, daikon radish. I also went for the ‘The Wedge Salad’ with baby iceberg, bacon lardons, crispy onion, blue cheese, buttermilk dressing. I wanted to more of a Surf and Turf for my meal so I did and a butter poached lobster and a 16 oz. NY Strip. You can dress your steak with bernaise, borderline, au poivre, or chimichurri if you choose to do so. If you want to take your steak to the next level, there are black truffle crust, roasted bone marrow, Point Reyes blue cheese, and jumbo lump crab “Oscar” additions. I can’t do a steakhouse and not have some sides right??? So I did the ‘Duck Fat Steak Fries’ and the ‘Lobster Mac & Cheese.’ Now as the night before, I can’t go to bed satisfied if I don’t have dessert. So I decided to overdo it and get two.

I went with the ‘Crème Brûlée’ with tahitian vanilla, almond tuile and the ‘Dark Chocolate Mousse Bar’ with peanut butter and praline.

I miss you already Diplomat Beach Resort. I can’t wait to come back for another staycation.
