Back in 2016, Upland Miami opened it’s doors in the South Pointe neighborhood in South Beach. At first, you might think, not another New York import, but Upland Miami was different.
Upland Miami comes from Chef Justin Smillie and restaurateur Stephen Starr. Upland Miami is a copy of its New York counterpart including the jars of lemon on the wall. Upland is a California meets Italian menu. There is pasta, pizza, a great burger and so much more at Upland.
Upland Miami has been open in Miami for over 2 years now and diners are still flocking to this awesome restaurant.
Upland Miami is located at 49 Collins Avenue and is open for dinner and brunch.
Recently, I got a chance to go back to Upland and revisit items on their ‘Greatest Hits Menu.’ These ‘Greatest Hits’ menu items are still on the menu today and a must when visiting Upland Miami. This is exactly what I would eat at Upland Miami every time I visit. It is the perfect menu in every way and the burger and ice cream are a must for me every time.
As a food blogger in Miami, I am always looking to find that secret dinner spot that would be perfect for a random night out or even date night. As it turns out, that spot exists in the Upper Buena Vista area and it goes by the name of vista.
vista is located between the Design District and the Buena Vista neighborhood. vista is Italian cuisine with a twist. vista comes to us from Roberto Bearzi and wife Fiorella Blanco, who are the team behind Italian restaurant Fratelli Milano.
The name vista, which means “view” in Spanish and Italian, is symbolic of the restaurant’s mission to introduce patrons to a new perspective on their more traditional Italian cuisine.
At vista, there is something for everyone on the menu. From charcuterie and artisan cheeses to oysters with mango, mignonette and even a roasted chicken with orange sauce and golden potatoes. One of the standouts that everyone is going to love is the house cut fries with melted raclette cheese.
The space at vista is also beautiful. There is an indoor dining room, a stunning outdoor patio and a rooftop terrace that is worth grabbing a drink at either before or after your meal. Brunch is also available at vista.
vista is located at 5020 NE 2nd Ave. in Miami.
Here are some of the dishes I had at vista, when I visited a few weeks ago:
When it comes to food halls in Miami, I would say Miami has an over abundance of them at the moment. Lucky for Miami’s newest, The Citadel, they stand out in a crowded space of food halls in Miami.
The Citadel is Miami’s biggest food hall and is located in Miami’s Little River neighborhood. The ground floor of The Citadel is the food hall with 15 restaurant vendors and a bar. The Citadel is also home to a rooftop bar opening soon, a retail and maker space and office space for a communications company.
The Citadel literally has something for everyone including those picky eaters.
Here’s where you could eat from:
33 Kitchen – Peruvian food
Ash! Pizza Parlor – Neapolitan pizza from the owners of Stanzione 87 in Brickell
Bachour – Pastries from chef Anthony Bachour
Bianco Gelato – Italian gelato shop
Palmar – Modern Chinese
Il Nuts – Roasted Israeli nuts, seeds and snacks
Manjay – Caribbean Cuisine
Meet ‘n cheese – Charcuterie
Rare Burger – Burgers by 33 Kitchen
Sakaya Kitchen Pop-Up by chef Richard Hales
Taquiza – A Mexican taqueria from chef Steve Santana
Vice City Bean – Coffee Bar
The Citadel is easily my new favorite food hall and it’s definitely worth a visit ASAP. If you’re worried about your little ones, don’t The Citadel is 100% kid friendly.
So it’s not often, I talk about Cuban food on the blog. So when I do, you know it has to be good.
Sanguich de Miami is here to become your new obsession. As you have probably seen on my Instagram account, I am obsessed with Sanguich. It has officially become one of my favorite places in Miami.
The Cuban sandwich is a Miami staple and sure you could get a Cuban sandwich anywhere in this city, but nothing like the one at Sanguich de Miami. Maybe it’s the house cured ham or the house made pickles, but to truly understand what I mean, you have to go and try it for yourself.
Not only is the Cuban sandwich, my favorite Cuban in the city, but the other sandwiches on the menu are just as amazing. The Media Noche is incredible, followed by the Pan Con Bistec and I cannot forget the Pan Con Lechon.
Wash all those sandwiches down with a Cuban shake, some croquettas or even a nice Colada.
Stop wasting time and check out Sanguich de Miami today and tell them The Food-E sent ya.
Because I am clearly obsessed with this place, I’ve pretty much had the entire menu, so check out some photos of all the amazingness you’re missing out on at Sanguich de Miami.
Searching for an all-around restaurant that can make everyone happy isn’t exactly the easiest thing. But leave it to me to let you know that this Miami staple has a second location that is larger than the first and better than ever.
The Daily Creative Food Co. is where you should stop at. We all love The Daily from their first location on Biscayne Blvd. Their great breakfast, sandwiches, and so much more, make The Daily a Miami staple. Well if you didn’t know, they opened a bigger South Beach location a few years ago and I think this is the perfect time to check it out and see why I believe The Daily is better than ever.
The Daily’s South Beach location has been open for a few years now, but most people wouldn’t even know it. Their South Beach location is spacious and easy to get to, which makes for the perfect way to give The Daily a re-visit.
I recently took my own advice and decided to visit their South Beach location to remind myself why The Daily is so great.
Here are the dishes I ate:
The Daily Creative Food Co. is located at 959 West Avenue in Miami Beach.
