SUGARCANE raw bar grill Launches CANVAS Benefitting No Kid Hungry

Timon Balloo, Executive Chef and partner of SUGARCANE raw bar grill, has been appointed as the new South Florida Chair of Share our Strength’s Taste of the Nation, one of the nation’s premier culinary benefits to end childhood hunger in America. Balloo has decided to take it a step further with the launch of CANVAS, a program that was created to raise awareness and funds for the organization.

CANVAS is a virtual guest chef series that launched in February with Chef Clay Conley of Buccan, Imoto, The Sandwich Shop at Buccan, and Grato. The program supports Share our Strength’s No Kid Hungry initiative, activating chefs from across the country to virtually participate in a month-long program that highlights a unique and inspiring dish created using a bowl as a blank “canvas.” CANVAS’ upcoming all-star lineup of featured chefs include:

· April – JJ Johnson, Executive Chef of The Cecil and Minton’s located in Harlem
· May – Pichet Ong, Corporate Pastry Chef for Sugar and Plumm™, located in New York City
· June – Beau MacMillan, Food Network celebrity chef and Executive Chef of Sanctuary Resort on Camelback Mountain in Arizona

Additional chef collaborations for CANVAS for the remainder of the year will be announced soon.
