The Federal Food, Drink and Provisions has only been open for about three weeks now and is already doing big things.
The Federal is introducing its new selection of Vermouth-based cocktails today, February 8th.
What is Vermouth?
Well Vermouth is a grape-based, fortified wine flavored with various savory ingredients such as herbs, roots and barks. The modern versions of this aperitif began appearing in the late 18th and early 19th centuries throughout Europe (France, Italy & Germany) and were initially consumed as a medicinal libation. It was not until the late 1800s that vermouth became an important ingredient in a variety of classic cocktails. It primarily comes in a sweet and/or dry version, but varies based on producer.
The Federal is also launching a midnight happy hour on Fridays and Saturdays from 11p till 1a. Midnight happy hour kicks off Friday, Febraury 10th. Click here for the full midnight happy hour menu.
